Artist Bio
Though I have practiced with various art tools and mediums throughout the years, my current go-to methods to create art is drawing in a sketchbook and on my phone digitally. I dabble with semi-realism when needed for an art assignment but stick with a cartoon style for my art. I’ve been fascinated by cartoons since I was a child ranging from shows for kids to adults and was left in awe by how they seem to have so many ways to experiment with a cartoon art style compared to a more realistic one.
After moving away from the idea of wanting to be a veterinarian during my elementary school years, I began to draw on any piece of paper I could find in class or at home and doodle whatever came to mind or what I saw in the media. During middle school is when I took art more seriously and started having my own ideas for stories and characters I wanted to do more with. At this time however I was anxious on improving my art skills so stepping out of my comfort zone for my artwork like practicing with different mediums or learning challenging art techniques was out of the question until late high school. That was when I took more art classes and had more materials to work with. Even the critique my teachers would provide helped me remain confident with my art when I felt unmotivated to make anything or was overwhelmed from comparing my art to my peers. Attending college is when I felt satisfied with more of the artwork I would make and noticed my art improving gradually from each art class I took. Now I look forward to my future as a cartoon artist and seeing where else my art takes me.
