About Me

I have often heard that the number 13 was considered an unlucky number for most people, but for someone like myself born on Friday the 13th in November of 1998, I would say the number has worked in favor of my existence being possible. It may also explain why I’m so drawn to horror films and their creepy aesthetics. I was told by my parents that the doctors initially expected me to be born on October 31st. Personally, being born on Friday the 13th feels much more exciting to talk about than being born on a popular holiday.
Before moving to Stockton in the early summer of 2017, I was born in Hayward and lived there for about two years before moving to San Leandro where I spent a majority of my childhood and early adult years. I lived with my parents and younger autistic brother for a good while until my uncle, who used to care for me while my parents were at work, came to live with us permanently. Living in the Bay Area was something I got used to and never expected to move from how attached I was to the environment and the people I’ve met. Moving to Stockton was a big transition for the next phase of my life but it has lead me to new experiences at San Joaquin Delta College and soon at University of the Pacific.
I have been considered the “quiet kid” due to my introverted personality in addition to being a female that was into stuff considered “for boys” like video games and action figures. I would connect with my male peers more easily rather than my female ones on that matter. Eventually I befriended other females over time who had similar interests to me which helped myself feel less isolated from people of my own gender. I still have my introvert moments when socializing but sometimes I push myself to engage in conversation if given the opportunity to make new connections.
My interests and hobbies mainly revolve around drawing during my free time, playing video games on my Nintendo Switch, collecting Pop Figures of my favorite franchises, and watching cartoons and horror movies. My favorite food to eat is mashed potatoes with gravy and steak while my least favorite to eat is anything involving cheddar cheese. I am also allergic to strawberries but enjoy eating strawberry flavored candy. I currently have 2 mixed chihuahuas at home and intend to own more dogs in the future.
Probably the most crucial event in my life was when I was temporarily living with my grandmother to finish my first year at Chabot College while packing for my move to Stockton. It was convenient for me to stay with her since she lived close to the college and helped provide some relaxation from the stress of moving to a new area. She was not only happy that me and my family found a much better house to live in but that I was also a college student continuing my studies in art. She passed away during my time at San Joaquin Delta College which hit me greatly knowing that she would not be able to see my graduate a few years later but that motivated me to keep working harder for my future in honor of her and the impact she had on my life.
