Biography
My original major choice when starting college was illustration until I noticed that the studio art major offered the classes and resources essential to my future as an animator and continued under that major since then. Some art related classes like photography and painting I felt would not benefit my interests or career with my initial plans as an animator, but taking those classes helped me appreciate other art mediums and continuously improve my art style over time. I attended Chabot College for one semester when pursuing my associate in arts degree and continued where I left off by taking the remaining classes at San Joaquin Delta College. I eventually graduated 4 years later and earned my associate in arts degree but wanted to push myself further by aiming for a bachelor of fine arts in studio art degree, which I am working towards as of currently. After I receive my BFA, I plan to show my portfolio to various animation studios and take on any job openings and internships to strengthen my art skills and connections and hope to bring my original work to life and out in the world for others to enjoy.
I noticed that any art created however can have one or multiple interpretations and challenges not just the artist, but the audience as well. Growing up with artists in my family provided reassurance in my decision to pursue art. Though what I create is on the cartoon side, I was inspired by many TV shows and other forms of media to create my own original work. There were themes and characters I didn’t see represented in the media during my youth so I eventually incorporated this into my work over time. Making art was a skill I got attached to at an early age which helped me realize what I wanted to invest my time in for the rest of my life.
